According to officials, the actor Jonathan Majors was arrested on Saturday in New York for domestic battery. The accusations are on suspicion of strangulation, assault, and harassment.
Majors, the star of the recently released "Creed III" and "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania," was allegedly involved in a domestic battery incident with a 30-year-old woman, according to New York City police. Around 11 a.m., police were called to a 911 call made inside an apartment in the Chelsea district of Manhattan.
The woman reported to authorities that she had been assaulted, according to a statement from an NYPD representative. . “Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”
The lady was later reported as his girlfriend. Apparently, the "Creed III" star's girlfriend thought another woman was texting him, which led to an argument and the allegations of battery.
As of Saturday night, Jonathan Majors was no longer in police custody.
Majors's representative disputed that the actor had done anything improper. He did not batter her or anyone.
The spokesperson said, "He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up." Majors’ spokesperson said they are “quickly gathering and presenting evidence” — including video footage from “the vehicle where this episode took place” and testimony from witnesses. They expect the charges to be dropped soon.
Jonathan Majors is accused of serious crimes. However, Majors is innocent until and unless proven guilty of all charges. Notwithstanding this, the accusations and charges are gravely concerning. Either way, this is not good. If the alleged victim is lying that's a horrible thing to do to a person. If the accusations are false, then getting him arrested and potentially destroying his career is offensive.
On the other hand, if the charges are true, then it's horrible thing to do a person, too. Especially because he appears to have the resources to get help to avoid situations like this from happening.
